DEANDANE BOARDING KENNELS AND CATTERY
INOCULATION AND IMMUNISATION
It is against the law for any licensed Kennels and Cattery to allow any animal into the premises without proof of relevant vaccinations. It is the pet owners responsibility to check your pet is up to date well in advance of the boarding period as it is very distressing for all concerned to be turned away on the day you are going on holiday. Your vet will happily give you a copy if you have mislaid your certificates.
Proof must be provided, at least once a year, that any dog boarding at Deandane has current inoculations against Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper Virus, Leptospirosis and Infectious Canine Hepatitis. Please note that initial inoculation consists of 2 injections 2-3 weeks apart and it will be a further 14 days before we can accept any dog for boarding. Boosters must be given according to current legislation.
All dogs must also be immunised against Kennel Cough. Initial immunisation must be carried out at least 14 days prior to the first day of boarding and yearly boosters at least 7 days prior to the first day of boarding.
Proof must be provided, at least once a year, that any cat boarding at Deandane has current inoculations against Cat Flu (feline herpes virus and feline calcivirus), Feline Infectious Enteritis and Feline Leukaemia Virus. Please note that initial inoculations consist of 2 injections 2-3 weeks apart and it will be a further 14 days before we can accept any cat for boarding. Boosters must be given according to current legislation.
FLEAS & TICKS
On booking in your pet, you will be asked when your pet was last treated against these pests. Whilst it is not our responsibility to treat any animal in our care against fleas and ticks we pride ourselves on our housekeeping to make sure your pets are not affected by them so, if your pet has not had recent treatment we may request that we treat them before entry in to the kennels or cattery with an over the counter product. We reserve the right to refuse boarding for visibly infested animals if our offer to treat is refused.
PLEASE NOTE: To avoid disappointment early booking is essential for school holiday periods, especially Easter and Summer when we are fully booked well in advance.
NEW CUSTOMERS: Please feel free to print off a boarding form to save time on arrival (preferably A5 size)
